WHY IT MATTERS: While survival rates for pediatric cancer continue to improve, the long-term effects of chemotherapy and radiation often include infertility. Fertility preservation options such as egg, sperm or tissue banking are rarely covered by insurance and often inaccessible to young patients. The Isabella Santos Foundation has made fertility preservation a core survivorship priority to ensure children battling cancer can dream about their future families.
