CHICAGO, Sept. 3, 2025 – At the heart of Larry Roberts Chicago is a love story. For more than three decades, painter Larry Roberts and his wife, Laurie, lived and created side by side – he on canvas, she as his muse, collaborator, and confidante. When Larry lost his battle with cancer in 2019, Laurie sought a way to continue their shared vision by transforming his art into new forms that could make his work accessible to a wider audience. That devotion now inspires the brand’s second collection of fine art rugs.
Roberts was a Chicago painter celebrated for his abstract, figurative, expressionist, and impressionist works. A self-taught artist, his process involved layering and removing paint, sketching, strumming a guitar, or writing poetry as he allowed each canvas to reveal itself.
The new collection reimagines five of Larry's paintings as floor coverings, grounding spaces much like a piece anchors a gallery wall. Each rug reflects Larry’s mastery of movement, color and emotion, while the process of translation into textiles creates new dimensions of depth and texture. Handwoven with precision and care by India’s most skilled master weavers, the rugs combine luxurious natural fibers with precise craftsmanship - ensuring that each one functions not just as decor but as an heirloom-worthy work of art.
