Bluffton, SC - On June 6th, Hospice Care of the Lowcountry hosted its annual "A Time to Remember" event, drawing a heartfelt gathering of community members, families, and supporters. Held at the beautiful Coastal Discovery Museum, the free event served as a touching tribute to loved ones who have passed, offering a space for reflection, remembrance, and celebration of life.
The evening featured a moving presentation by the Nurses Honor Guard of South Carolina, and inspiring speeches from James Dismond, CEO of Hospice Care of the Lowcountry, Charlie Tyler, M. Div., and Lexie White, Director of Social Services of Hospice Care of the Lowcountry. Attendees were invited to write messages on oyster shells in remembrance of their lost loved ones, which were collected and will be used to create beautiful artwork that will hang in Hospice Care of the Lowcountry’s office to honor those lives. The event concluded with a candlelight vigil, a moving tribute that illuminated the garden and symbolized the enduring light of those remembered.
In addition to the memorial activities, "A Time to Remember" featured resources where attendees could connect with grief counselors, support groups, and other community resources. This holistic approach underscored Hospice Care of the Lowcountry's commitment to providing comprehensive support to those navigating the complexities of loss.
"A Time to Remember" was not only a night of reflection, but a celebration of life, community, and the strength found in shared experiences.
